SepAnx + Shitty Situation

[Edit: I started to write this last Dec 29th LOL]

It has been two weeks since we moved in and less than two for Bullet. When we moved Bullet with us, the first night was kinda okay. Second night was horrible. He was crying in his crate for probably hours. I even took him out to potty but he just cried and howled. Then, after a few days he was finally adjusting—that was what I thought. I noticed, however, that whenever I put him in, he’ll only cry for a few minutes then he’d stop. When my fiancé puts him in, he’d cry for at least ten minutes. We wondered if he has separation anxiety to my fiancé because of how he was behaving.

Probably a week later, we kind of found a “trick” for him to settle in his crate. We have to give him lots of hugs and kisses and tell him it’s quiet time. Then, he won’t bark or cry in his crate until he’s ready to be let out the next morning. Miracle? Maybe. But that’s kind of what I was doing before, maybe he just figured it out? LOL From that moment on, however, he’s behaving himself whenever it’s quiet time. One odd time, he barked at dawn and we ignored it—this was after New Years—and around 0530, when my fiancé got up to get a glass of water, he came back and told me that I wouldn’t like Bullet because he pooped in the crate.

At this point, I knew that Bullet doesn’t really poop or pee in his crate, unless—well, he had diarrhea. It was bad. And we couldn’t figure out for days what caused him to have such loose bms. At first I thought it was the rawhide that we gave him the day before. But as the days past, his stools weren’t going back to normal. He had another accident in his crate one morning too. He’s been drinking and eating, he doesn’t seem to be dehydrated or lethargic/drowsy that’s why I didn’t take him to the vet. Then, we realized (at some point) that it was his food. LOL We’ve been feeding him the same brand since he was one month old and we changed it. We transitioned him slowly but when he’s eating it solely, it was apparent that it’s the food that caused his loose stools. Good thing we only bought a small bag, so when it was empty, we bought his “original” food. Loose stool problem, SOLVED. Few days later, I came across this post in IG about grain-free dog foods that can cause DCM. Out of curiosity, I looked at the food we bought before if it was grain-free—and it was. I dunno if it’s one of the reasons why Bullet’s poop were stool. I’m just glad we switched it back.

This is it for now, will right again soonish.

Ciao! 💋
