Mini Review: Was it Love?

So I was just done watching another kdrama: Was it Love? I watched it because of Song JiHyo LOL. This post is kinda mini review/mini rant but I have to remind you that as usual, I’m not a good reviewer. So here’s my thoughts regarding the drama. [EDIT: THIS IS NOT REALLY A REVIEW]

Oh Dae Oh. The writer.

At the beginning of the drama, I really hated his attitude. He was stuck up and arrogant, though it was very obvious that he was putting up a front. But yeah, he was a jerk and very self-centred piece of shit. I hated his guts but eventually when things were starting to clear up, he mellowed. Especially when he knew the reason why the female lead left him 14 years ago. There were some scenes were I found myself crying with him because he looked pitiful and looked really hurt and heart broken. He’s a good actor. I ended up loving his character in the end.

Oh Yeon Woo. The heartthrob teacher.

He was too sweet for my liking. He’s too clingy and—too much? I don’t know, I just don’t like his character in the beginning. He’s kinda obsessed LOL. But at the end, he knew his boundaries. He sorta played an important role regarding addressing Hanee’s feelings.

Ryu Jin. The actor.

At first I thought he was a good guy. I didn’t like him (LOL it seems like I dislike almost all of the male characters in this drama) simply because of what he did. I don’t want to spoil you guys so better watch it. Simply put, he’s the typical second lead in every k-drama who always says: I liked you first. But NEVER confessed his feelings because of fear(?) or some other reasons. Then gets whiny why the female lead does not like him back.

Koo Pa Doo. The Boss.

Hmm, I liked his character LOL Though it felt like this whole character deserves another arc or another drama. *spoiler alert* He’s the only one who did not have any love interest to the female lead. It was a different kind of affection. Well, maybe at some point yes. But you’ll understand better once you watch the drama.

Noh Ae Jeong. The Producer.

Our female lead! The strong, independent Noh Ae Jeong. There were decisions she made that was questionable, at least for me. Maybe she did that thinking her daughter will understand. With all the challenges she faced throughout the series, she remained strong. It’s almost as if she didn’t need a man.

The drama itself is fun to watch. It gave me Reply series vibe with all the flashbacks and guessing game on who is the biological father of Hanee. As usual with k-dramas tho, even at the last episode, there were still problems/struggles that the main leads had to face. I thought that by episode 16, everything and everyone will finally have happy ending (yes they did btw). I wasn’t just expecting another twist that it felt almost as if the drama will be extended. And if there’s a lesson to be learned from this, it’ll be the importance of communication and making sure to listen to your partner. There were times I was annoyed with Hanee’s (the daughter) reactions but then I realized she’s a kid—it was kind of normal for her to do that. Besides, if I’ll have a daughter, I wanted her to be like Hanee’s character. She was raised well by her mother, indeed. I didn’t put Dasom’s character here because—I don’t know. I just didn’t like her character but as usual she turned out to be okay in the end.

Okay folks, this is it for today’s mini review. LOL.

Ciao!
