Tiny Changes

There has been one change in my life that I haven’t realized until recently.

When I was still living with my parents, on my day off—I usually spend it on my laptop. If not, I’d just be in my bed all day, sleeping. When I moved out, I thought I have been spending my days sleeping all day—especially if I just came off my night shift rotation. However, I just realized that that wasn’t the case. On my 5 days stretch off—I have been waking up early—0930 is already early for me okay. I’ve been getting up around noon or past noon before so this is definitely an improvement for me. Don’t judge.

Before, whenever I wake up early I tend to take naps in the afternoon until late in the evening. It defeated the purpose of waking up early to do actual things (or chores). Nowadays, I can proudly say that after drinking my coffee, I will do my chores I had decided to do the day before (e.g. do the laundry or clean the bathroom), then read a book, eat lunch, watch an episode or two, go back to reading when I got bored from watching, play a little bit with my dog and then eat supper. So far, I’ve managed to stay awake the whole day and finished my chores. The amount of me taking naps in the afternoon was less compared to before. I’m loving the new me! LOL But seriously, I’m loving this kind of routine. For some reason, I also had more time to read and I haven’t been on my phone for too long.

I just read Atomic Habits (finished it today), and it made me more aware of how things—no matter how small—could change your life when you do them consistently. It inspired me to start a new habit tomorrow (because it’s the new month, duh) For this new habit, I want to incorporate what I’ve learned from the book. It’ll probably take me a year or hopefully just a few months to update if I was successful with incorporating what I’ve learned. Wish me luck!

This is it for now! Will write again soon!

Ciao! 💋
