Apartment Dilemma: Update

Wassup! Soooo~ we finally found an apartment. It’s 9 minutes away from school—kind of a little bit farther compared to where we were previously staying. And it’s close to downtown, which I actually find a tiny little bit a problem—because for me, the closer you are in downtown, the closer you are of troubles and whatnot. But! The landlords told us that it’s a quiet place and it’s safe. Besides, they’re the only ones who offered us the place right away. Well, there’s one place that we thought we’re gonna get, apparently, the tenant who’s supposed to move out by March, told the landlord after we viewed the apartment (that very same day, btw), that they’re not going to move out because something happened to the place they were supposed to be moving in.

Anyways, I’m just glad we found a good place—stove, fridge, washer and dryer, are all brand new. The only thing or things we’re gonna worry about is our bed, dining table and chairs, garbage cans and probably a mirror. I didn’t get the chance to look at the apartment, because it was snowing yesterday and my boyfriend told me that there were a lot of accidents in the highway—so I decided not to leave. They already offered the place to us and we’re going to sign the contract this Friday—I’m so excited!

We told our landlady that we’re going to move out this end of month and she took it nicely. Well, I’m not sure exactly—maybe she’s a little bit disappointed because we’re leaving the place together. She texted me after we talked in person and asked if some of our things are missing or if there’s something she should know so she could correct it for her future renters. I honestly don’t want to let her know the shitty things that was happening downstairs but our friends told us that I should, because the future renters might not stay long there because of the “bad” experience. After exchanging lengthy messages, I found that she gave $50 discount to the other two who’s occupying in the basement. The discount is for them to clean the bathroom. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that—mine and my friend’s actually—because, HELLO! We’re students! How come we didn’t get any discount? lol! And I told her that they’ve only cleaned the bathroom twice! Since they moved in last November or mid October—and they didn’t even change the garbage in the bathroom even though it’s overflowing with tissue paper and their used sanitary pads. I used to change the garbage every Thursday—since the day I moved there—and just stopped when I noticed that it’s only me who’s changing it. Besides, whenever I go back there on Mondays, the garbage is already full—meaning they didn’t change it since I left a week before. Crazy right? Then we found out that they are the ones who’s responsible to keep the place clean, BECAUSE THEY FREAKIN HAVE A $50 DISCOUNT. That’s soooo unfair to us. Well, at least we’re moving already. And I told her the reason I’m moving out is because I couldn’t study anymore—that’s my main reason. She asked me what are the things she could correct for her next renter/s and I just answered. I don’t have to feel guilty, right? lol The only lie we told is that we’re going to drive back and forth from now on. We didn’t tell her that we’re moving in a different place. Hehe, my bad ?

We’re gonna start packing our things this week, and will start moving this long weekend. Since my boyfriend is busy because of work ?, me and my friend will disassemble my desk by ourselves. Wish us luck! ?

Happy Valentines Day!
