Mini Heart Attack

Okay, my puppy mishap saga continues. This time (more like last Sunday) Bullet chewed a charger and swallowed the connector—the part where you connect your phone. I belatedly realized that he was chewing onto something because my fiancé and I were talking. By the time I saw it, it was already too late. I was so worried that all I could think of the next morning all day at work was if he’s still alive or if he was really sick. My fiancé stayed overnight so I texted him that in case Bullet started to become lethargic, don’t eat or drink and didn’t poop that day, to call the vet and take him to the vet right away.

Probably around lunch time he sent me a message that he did pooped, with 3 small stones but no pieces from the charger yet. And that he ate Kesha’s food (my fiancé’s family dog)—I was relieved a little bit but still worried because Bullet hasn’t passed things I want him to passed. Later on, I received another message that Bullet had another poop, this time with parts of the charger but the end piece or the usb connector hasn’t passed yet. Then when I got home, my worry increased because he looked tired and sleepy. I kept asking my fiancé if they walked that day and he too kept answering that they walked for a bit and played tug-of-war, hence, Bullet was really sleepy. Now, Tuesday comes—and usually when I put him in the crate overnight, he’d whine and cry if my dad is already awake and I’d usually take him out. This time, he didn’t. So I let him out and observed if he was feeling sick or what. He was whimpering and looks unsettled whenever he lays down. He wasn’t guarding his stomach, he wasn’t growling if I touch his stomach—more like he was very sleepy—it was at 0430 in the morning. Around 0900, when my mom came down, he suddenly perked up. Then, at probably 1000, he pooped on the pad and FINALLY, the end piece of the charger is with the poop.

I could finally breathe in peace. All throughout this observation, Bullet’s behaviour didn’t change. He still had his good appetite, he’s pooping, drinking, and peeing. I was happy and relieved that I didn’t have to take him to the vet for a surgery. Thank God, he’s able to pass the end piece of the charger. Geez, puppyhood is really a nightmare!
