Covid Vaccine: The Aftermath

It’s been 24 hours (well more than 24 hours obviously) since I had my 2nd dose of Covid Vaccine. I was—well, I am still monitoring for any possible side effects. But so far, all I had at this moment is a very sore arm. Just like the first dose but not as bad. After the first dose, it actually felt like I got punched on my arm. It was very heavy and sore, the next day though the soreness was gone. If I would’ve rated the pain it’ll be a 9 out of 10 for the first one. The second it’ll probably be a 4-5 out of 10. Another thing I’ve noticed is feeling tired or feeling heavy in general. The thing is, I am on my period too. So my period could’ve mask the real side effects of the vaccine. Usually, when I am on my period, I feel tired all the time and does not really want to move much or even get up from bed. It’s kind of hard to tell. I believed I had a slight fever when I woke up, but couldn’t confirm it because I don’t know where I put the thermometer. For precaution, I took one Advil and made my green smoothie (that my fiancé hates because it’s green). Drank lots of water and took a nap—this one is not new because I always take a nap.

So far, I am feeling great. Just that heavy feeling when I woke up which was easily resolved. Getting the vaccine was actually a pretty scary experience, especially it is new. However, I was also thinking, that maybe back when all the other vaccines were still new, this was how the public felt too. There were doubts and conspiracies. But hey, they worked! Well, unless of course you don’t believe in vaccines you’d definitely say otherwise. I am not going to argue or even have a discussion with you if you are that kind of person. And if you are hesitant to get the vaccine I wouldn’t blame you and I won’t force you to get it because that is your right. I even knew people that are close to me who told me they won’t get it yet and I don’t have to disagree with them. It’s their body—they could do whatever the f*ck they want with it.

What I am really trying to convey on this post is: you will definitely get a very sore arm after the vaccine. I believe age and comorbidity will definitely affect how your body will react to the side effects of the vaccine. You might have a different experience that what I had because we are built differently. Anyway, that’s all folks! Have a nice day!

Ciao!
