The power of coffee

There was one time during our graveyard shift that made the whole group tease one of our mates. We don’t have any patients that Sunday night so we spend the whole shift sitting behind a reception desk with all of the unused bed linens on the floor.

Some of us are texting, Facebook-ing, taking pictures, reading a book (it is actually a Harry Potter book) and playing mobile games. The place was really crowded (I think there’s 6 or 7 of us on that cramped place?) Around 11 o’clock we had our ‘dinner’. One of our group mates brought an instant coffee with her so that she’ll stay awake for the rest of the night. Most of us though, didn’t drink or brought coffee. However, an hour after we had our ‘late night dinner’, she was the first one to fall asleep. We started teasing her, saying things like: how can you fall asleep first when you’re the only one who drank coffee? She ignored us completely as we were taking pictures of her sleeping.

And as far as I can remember, I didn’t sleep at all during our graveyard shift even though all the nurses told us to sleep (lol).
