After our Thunder Bay adventures, we went home for a week—got some rest and spent Thanksgiving with our families. It was unfortunate that my brother-in-law and his girlfriend didn’t made it because they were both sick and was unsure if they got CoVid. They just dropped the cake outside and we gave them some foods to take home LOL
Anyway, we were back on the road by Friday morning. Our first stop was Medicine Hat and we stayed over on our friends’ place. We were also supposed to meet two more friends who lived in Brooks, but because the other friend was pregnant and her sister couldn’t drive at night, we just told them that we’ll see them next time. The next day, Saturday—we went over to my husband’s friends’ place: Lethbridge and we stayed there another night.
It was actually nice to visit friends and spend time with them. It’s bittersweet too, because time is limited and you’ll never know when to say goodbye.
Sunday, we made our way to Canmore, where we’ll spend the rest of the week. When we arrived, it was already dark and we were exhausted we called it a night. Monday, we woke up late and I thought we weren’t going anywhere so I didn’t get ready LOL Looking back now, I wasted a day because October in Alberta is actually unpredictable. You’ll never know when it’s going to rain or snow. Anyway, on our “first day”, we decided to just walk around in town. We went to the park and as usual, it’s beautiful and peaceful. I could picture myself sitting on one of the benches, reading a book or writing on my journal and will take a break by admiring the view. I actually saw someone writing on her journal and I was jealous because she have this beautiful view to look at while reflecting.
The next few days, we went to the places we went to as a couple skipping most of them because if we really want to visit those places again, we have to hike. And I feel like it was not a good idea for us to hike for hours especially when it’s bear hunting season—I mean when bears hunt for food so they can go hibernate.
Even though the weather wasn’t on our side at times, we were content and happy whenever we see our baby girl’s smile and giggles on the picture. It made me feel as if she’s also enjoying our adventure and the sceneries LOL
Canmore has been our go to place whenever we want to take a break from our work life. This time (I mean, last year)—it was our place of solace from our new reality a.k.a parenthood. It’s a peaceful and serene place. Anyway, I’m not sure if we’re going to do this as a yearly thing, you know. However, it is also not a bad idea to make this a tradition LOL Well, still it depends on the budget and our work schedule in the future.
Ciao!
