I know I’ve been MIA for months now. But here I am, hopefully I will be updating this blog more often.
Last January, after I’ve finished watching a Korean drama and was in a hunt of finding a new drama to binge on—I came across with The Untamed on Netflix. The first scene got me hooked up right away, but there’s something about the series that got me thinking that there’s more to it. Mind you I was still in episode 1 when I decided to look it up. Lo and behold, I found out that it was indeed a BL novel. It was very familiar and it felt like I’ve watched an animated clip about it on instagram last year or so.
I forgot which episode I was when I decided to read the novel first. It was was sooo good! When I was done reading it I resumed watching and I was amazed that the producers and directors didn’t change much of the scenes. They stuck with the plot even though they censored the whole BL thing. The details of their relationship were there. I was so happy~
I was obsessed with it that when I was done with the novel and the drama, I started watching behind the scenes. I loved all the actors and actresses–they portrayed their characters well and they gave life to these fictional characters. Though I could really tell from their acting that they are new. Well, what’s important is I enjoyed it and I am still not over it. And I even watched the anime version LOL though the anime is not finished yet. I even started reading the manga and again it’s not finished as well.
So, I began hunting for fanfics. And the fanfics I’ve read so far were GOLD. I might make a list of WangXian fic recommendation when my practicum is over. But yeah, I recommend the drama and you could also read the english translation of the novel online. Here’s the link for the novel: Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. The drama is available on Netflix though there are 60 episodes. Hope you have the patience to watch it lol.
