|These are the people who kept me sane when I was in college LOL
After a year, we finally get the chance to meet together again. It was kind of a struggle to find a day that we were all off because of the nature of our work (we’re all shift workers). We decided to meet up in Lee’s Buffet to continue our “tradition”.
This tradition started when we were still studying. Basically, every after the term ends and we all passed—including our practicums—we celebrate it by eating out. We considered this buffet as our good luck charm when we were students. So, to commemorate our “reunion” after a year (thanks to Covid), we ate here. Since we are still in the midst of pandemic, and there are a lot of restrictions, this buffet experience was really different. The staff helped us pick our food—basically, we point the food we want and they’ll put it in a plate. Unlike of course before, when the customers will just pick and serve their own. Hello, new normal 😒 My friends came back for another serving of food/s—we were in a buffet so no judging! We talked about our work and reminisced about the past.
Then we went to Ate F‘s place to hang-out and to meet their kiddos. It was heartwarming to see the kids/todds running around the house playing. Because the last time we saw each other, Ate E‘s son was still a few month’s old (prolly 3 months) and Ate F‘s son was still in her tummy LOL Hopefully our next get together won’t be that far long.
It is really nice to see your friends during this crazy time (a.k.a pandemic). I feel privileged to be able to see my friends and hang-out with them. Because I know, in other part of the world, others couldn’t meet their friends or their family because of lockdown or worse, because their family member or friend/s passed on already.
Well, before this post get depressing, I’ll end it here. Will try to write more often—I know I’ve said that a million times already. But I will try. Promise.
Ciao 💋
